The Southern Gospel Music Guild
is an active organization of Southern Gospel music industry leaders
working hard to expand Southern Gospel music's awareness across America as
well as to improve the professionalism of those already involved in any way.
The Guild has, in the past, fostered public awareness through the very
popular "September is Southern Gospel Music Month" promotion each September.
And the Guild seeks to improve professionalism within the industry
by promoting Southern Gospel involvement in the GMA's outstanding Gospel
Music Week educational tracks each April (see below). Paul Heil, host
of The Gospel Greats program, served for nine years as the
Guild's president. For more information about the Guild, please visit
the Guild's web site.

The Southern Gospel Music Association is an
organization founded in 1994 that is dedicated to the preservation of Southern
Gospel music's rich history through the construction and maintenance of a
Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Opened to the public
on April 17th, 1999, the facility (seen above) is located just inside the
front entrance at Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, where
millions of people can view interactive exhibits and learn more about Southern
Gospel music. At the museum you will learn about Southern Gospel music's
rich heritage, enjoy a lifelike "quartet" singing the way it was done in
the early music schools, see an actual bus like the one the Blackwood Brothers
first traveled in, enjoy interactive displays and much more. Hall of
Fame and Museum admission is free with regular Dollywood park
admission. The SGMA is a private, non-profit 501-3C tax exempt organization
operated by a board of directors selected from artists, industry participants
and others. The Association is actively seeking new members whose
membership (just $20 per year) helps support the vital work of this organization.
Separate donations are also being sought to help pay for the Hall of Fame
and Museum. Please visit the
SGMA's web site for more
information.
The Gospel Music
Association is the oldest and largest organization working for
the spread of the Gospel through all forms and styles of Gospel music,
including Southern Gospel. The GMA is best known for the
Dove Awards they announce
each spring and for their
Gospel Music Week in
Nashville each April. Gospel Music Week's educational opportunities cover
several tracks, for artists, radio, promoters, retailers and others who desire
to increase their professionalism and knowledge about Gospel music. Follow
the links above for more information about the organization and the
Doves.
The Southern Gospel
Promoters Association was organized to help, encourage and
provide information to all member concert promoters and work as a unified
body to make a greater success of the concert arena. An SGPA Code of Ethics
will be required and adhered to by each member promoter to insure that the
association will be honorable, respectable and legal in all its
presentations. More information about the SGPA is available on their web
site:
