"Your Reservation"

A well-known, long-time Southern Gospel group will be coming through our area in July to sing. So I contacted the concert promoter and asked if we could use a quiet room at the concert venue for Paul to do a radio interview with the group. They responded that a room would be available to us for interviews. And they added that they would have complimentary meal tickets for the evening meal for us, as well. That was very gracious and generous of them.

Maybe you've considered going somewhere and been told, "You just come. We'll have a seat saved for you." You arrive and – there it is – your table is reserved. The meal ends and you find that the bill has already been paid. You were expected and, on your arrival, you were welcomed.

Jesus has a table set and reserved just for you, as He has for each believer. It begins with the banquet of all the ages – the "Marriage Supper of the Lamb" (see Rev. 19:9). And there's more...

Your mansion is prepared and waiting. 1 Peter 1:3-4 tells us, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you..."

Did you see that? It is "reserved in heaven for you." As Matthew 25:34 says of the Lord at the Judgment, "Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world..." You – as a believer – are expected. And the Lord will take you there!

All of that, though, didn't come without cost. Jesus' blood paid the price in full. 1 Peter 1:18,19 reminds us that "you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold ... but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot." The price has been paid in full through Jesus' shed blood on the Cross.

This world might be tough, but hang in there, Christian. When the time comes, the Lord will see to it that you will enjoy everything Heaven has to offer. Everything is prepared and waiting for you. There is no cost, because the price was paid. Everything is reserved and Jesus is waiting. You are expected and, on your arrival, you will be welcomed.

See you there.
