Happy (belated) Father's Day! I hope this recent Father's Day was a special day of honor for all of you men who are called "Dad."
Many of us have (or had) loving, good fathers. We were greatly blessed. We were encouraged and inspired to be all that we could be.
But, they sometimes made mistakes. They stood tall, but sometimes they fell. They couldn't always provide in a way they might have liked to provide. They had wisdom but, good as it was, it was limited. Sometimes they didn't live up to our or their own expectations.
When we look at the Lord's prayer in Matthew 6:9, we read, "Our Father which art in heaven."
Regardless, of how great and loving our earthly fathers may be, they can never really compare to our Heavenly Father.
"Our Heavenly Father." He is a Father who loves and cares for you deeply. He meets and supplies your every need. He comforts you in your time of trouble and sorrow. He strengthens you when you are weak. He never leaves you nor forsakes you. He can never be accused of child abuse or child neglect.
This Father's Day season, what gift can you give Father God? What He most wants is you your heart, soul and will.
So (better late than never) "Happy Father's Day" to each of you fathers and Happy Father's Day, Father God.
