Shelia Shares....
"Reaching Out"

We constantly are hearing so much of the bad news in life and things people do that disturb us. But I love to hear how people and churches are giving and going beyond doing "just enough." We need to reach out in love and walk through the doors that God allows to open.

Following is a story from a subscriber to our email newsletter. Read how this church gave and gave and gave as God continued to provide opportunities. What can you or your church do?

"On Thanksgiving last year our church invited anyone who wanted to come to be at our church for a Thanksgiving meal. We wanted to reach those outside of our church. We prepared for about 800 people. We had people show up from everywhere and about 500 were fed. We were thrilled at the turnout.

"But, we have several ladies from a crisis center in town who are able to get out for short term visits who come to our church Sunday mornings. Some of them are not allowed outside visits. So some of our people took food and went to the center. They fed 100 more there. Then a feeding ministry that used our kitchen to prepare food for a meal for the homeless every Sunday, took the rest of the food and fed another 200 people. So that day we served 800 people. We still have some donated things (non-perishables) to use for another meal sometime. God is so good to us."

Always be prepared to give the Good News of Jesus Christ. Maybe you can also be His hands and feet.
