"Where Is God?"
Last week's "Shelia Shares" talked about the difficult 2012 that we had personally. 2013 started out the same way. Wednesday of last week we discovered that one of our business credit card numbers had been stolen and used Christmas day for large fraudulent purchases. Fortunately, we discovered it quickly and the credit card company has been extremely helpful. But so it goes in this life.
Many of you responded to me and said that my message of last week helped you put what you are going through into perspective. Today's "Shelia Shares" approaches the same topic from a slightly different angle. May it encourage you and me to hold on to God and His promises.
Where is God? When bad things happen, where is God? When you need answers, where is God? When there are decisions to be made, where is God? When your life is turned upside down, where is God?
God is with you.
Hebrews 13:5b reads, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." John 14: 17 talks about the Spirit and that He "dwells with you and will be in you." God is with you.
At their request, Jesus taught the disciples (and us) how to pray because He wanted us to talk with Him. An Old Testament scripture from Jeremiah 33 says, "Call unto me, and I will answer thee." God is your friend and He is with you.
When you can't see Him, God is with you. When you are celebrating His goodness to you, God is with you. When you are crying out for comfort and peace, God is with you. God has promised and He is with you.
When you are going through a trial and wonder where God is, remember the teacher is always quiet during the test. Know that, speaking or silent, God is with you.
