"What A Taste!"
The "Chocolate Capital of The World" is Hershey, PA. It's not far from our Pennsylvania home.
One year during the Christmas season, we joined some friends to walk through Hersheypark's festively decorated "Candy Lane" and to ride through Hershey's Chocolate World attraction where the chocolate-making process is explained in detail. The sweet smell of chocolate permeated the air. At the end of the tour, we were each given a miniature candy bar. What a good taste!
The scripture talks about a different kind of tasting. Psalm 34:8 says, "Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him."
As we journey through life, the smell of Jesus needs to flow out through us. His fragrance should greet every person we meet. When we share the Bible, we give a sweet taste to those we encounter.
And, when we get to the end of life, we can count on a much greater taste than that little chocolate bar to complete our journey. This taste of God is not a miniature. It will not "melt in our mouths." It will not simply become a pleasant memory. We will have an eternal sweet taste of heaven of Jesus of God and it will last forever.
Today, taste and see that the Lord is good. And, at the end of life as we know it, what a feast!
