"Showing The Way"
A stranger to town asked a man on the street for directions. The man began by telling him to go back the direction he had come. Then he changed his mind and told him to go down main street and take a right at the light. Then he decided it was three blocks down the street and take a left. Finally, he thought about it and told the stranger, "I guess you just can't get there from here."
We laugh about that story (and maybe we've had that same man give us directions in the past).
However, if we want to get to God, without Jesus we'd be rightly told, "You can't get there from here."
If Jesus had not come to earth and accomplished His purpose, we'd not be able to get to heaven. Without Jesus coming to purchase our salvation, we'd not be able to reach God.
As you celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ during this holiday season, remember all He accomplished in His 33 years. Give thanks that He made a way to God and has shown that way to us. Give thanks that you need never be told, "You can't get there from here."
