Have you ever had one of those days (or weeks) where everything went wrong? You just couldn't get the job done. You were overwhelmed and life seemed impossible.
Cheer Up! Moses was in a difficult situation in Exodus 17 and he knew he couldn't get the job done by himself. The Israelites under God's direction were fighting the Amalekites. As long as Moses held his hands up, the Israelites would win the battle. But when Moses put his hands down, the Amalekites would win. After a while, Moses' arms got heavy and tired and he couldn't keep them up. Aaron and Hur held up Moses' hands until the battle was over. The Israelites had won.
Sometimes we are in the same position as Moses and we need someone to hold our hands up until we win. We just can't do it alone.
Sometimes we see other people who are struggling along. That is when we need to be Aaron and Hur. We need to walk alongside people and hold up their hands.
Today, thank God for the people who walk along side you. And, look for opportunities to be a hand-holder to those in need.
