Have you ever been outside on a dark, clear night? The moon is the first thing to catch your eye. Then each individual star comes into focus.
In a city full of lights, it is hard to see the stars. But, where it is the blackest, the single star shines the brightest.
Philippians 2:15b reads, "You are living with crooked and mean people all around you. Among them you shine like stars in the dark world."
Because Christians are so different from people without Christ, it is very noticeable. Just as a star shines bright where there is no other light, so the Christian shines bright where there is no other light of Christ and his righteousness.
Many of us sang a song as children. "This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine." Let it shine this week and brighten a world dark with sin.
