The Rick Webb Family, our Featured Artists on this broadcast, have been extremely blessed over the years with opportunities to spread the Gospel in song in many places, in many ways. From huge convention settings to smaller church venues, they've ministered to countless individuals over the years. Their latest CD, "Stand Amazed," a few songs from which were heard on this program, is exceptional. As Parker mentioned on the air, all of the songs "point to Jesus." It just occurred to me that three of the five songs we included even include Jesus' name in the title: "Jesus, Only Jesus," "Jesus Speaking Peace" and "Give Me Jesus." These are all exceptional songs. You'll be hearing more songs from this CD in the future, especially as they apply to our various "theme" editions. More info about the Rick Webb Family can be found on their website.

Our Artist Spotlight guest, Matt Felts, is a most interesting and gifted individual. You've known him over the years as a member of such groups as Perfect Heart, the Dixie Melody Boys, the Skyline Boys and the Lesters. But now he sings solo, as well as serving as office manager for the Butler Music Group. But Matt also has a heart for his family. He's talked about his daughter, Abby, in the past, about how she has had to endure multiple surgeries due to a difficult birth. And Matt's new solo CD, "Based On A True Story," was first conceived as a fundraiser to help raise money for those medical procedures. Because his story was too long to include in the broadcast, I've copied it to our website where you can listen to a concise version of Matt's experiences with his daughter. Click here to listen. Matt's song, "The First Baseball Game," was, of course, something completely different. Who knew that baseball legend Don Mattingly was related to Matt through marriage? And that he would consent to making a guest appearance on Matt's recording. That, by the way, would make a great song for children who will want to know about all the Bible characters mentioned in the song. Matt's CD is now available through our springside.com mailorder service.
