From the broadcast the weekend of July 10th & 11th, 2010:

Click for Greater Vision It's hard to imagine that our Featured Artists this week, Greater Vision, are in their 20th year of singing, as you heard during our visits on this program. We had interviewed two of the original members — Gerald Wolfe and Mark Trammell — many times previously as members of the Cathedrals. And we interviewed Gerald, Mark and Chris Allman at one of their first concerts as Greater Vision. (Of course, it's also hard to imagine that I've been doing this program for 30 years.) God has certainly blessed — in both cases.

Greater Vision songs you heard were from their current live-in-concert recording, "20 Years: Live In Texas." As you heard, it was recorded in Temple, Texas, at a church where they've sung annually throughout their career as Greater Vision. This is a "best of" recording, with Greater Vision songs from their first 20 years chosen by readers of their e-mail newsletter, plus, as Gerald mentioned, a few new songs. If you've ever seen Greater Vision in concert, you know that the banter between the songs adds tremendously to the program, so you'll just have to get the DVD version of this recording (see next paragraph) to see that. (You got a small sample of that in Gerald's introduction on the air of their song, "I Sing The Mighty Power of God.") In any case, "Congratulations, Greater Vision, on 20 great years!"

Click for Springside Greater Vision's CD featured on this program, "20 Years: Live in Texas," is available from our mailorder service, Springside. Just call 1-800-38-MUSIC to order. (Orders over $40 in the USA qualify for free shipping.)

Click for Danny FunderburkDanny Funderburk, our Artist Spotlight guest on this program, is literally a walking miracle. He's gone through a heart attack, a series of potentially severe strokes and, most recently, gall bladder surgery (which was not mentioned on the air). Through it all, Danny says he's come to a stronger reliance upon, and understanding of, the faithfulness of God. Songs on his new solo CD reflect that, as you heard. His CD is entitled "Rise Up And Walk" and is available through Springside (either call or use this link). More info about Danny can be found on his website, http://www.dannyfunderburk.net.
