From the broadcast the weekend of April 24th & 25th, 2010:

Click for The Akins Our Featured Artists on this program were the Akins. The group's comprised of a dad (David Akin) and his three sons (Dave, Nick and Eli), all of whom are 20-somethings, and all of whom are very gifted. Songs during our visits with them were from their current CD entitled, simply, "The Akins." As you heard David tell in his introduction of the group, he had been working with traveling evangelists, providing the music. But it kept him away from home a lot, and he missed being with his young sons. As you heard him vividly describe, God opened the way for him to combine his desire to sing with his desire to be with his boys — by traveling and singing with them. Nick has demonstrated his special gift as a songwriter by writing many of the songs on their "The Akins" CD. It's amazing how fast this group has captured the national spotlight in Southern Gospel music and I'm sure we'll be hearing much, much more from them as time goes on.
