From the broadcast the weekend of April 10th & 11th, 2010:

Click for Mercy's Well Our Featured Artists on this program were the trio Mercy's Well Brad Strider, Greg Gainer and John Azzarello. Featured were songs from their very unusual current CD entitled "Songbook: Where Hymns and Harmony Live." As you heard, this is the third installment of their hymns series, and Brad wanted to feature on this particular installment some of the classic "convention style" songs from the past. You heard five of them on this program. I liked the fact that they brought in a bass singer for a few of the songs. What a quartet these guys would make! This is the same recording that Mercy's Well released as a limited edition LP (a record!) last fall. Perhaps you'll recall that I played a song back then directly from the LP, something I almost never do anymore. More info can be found at www.mercyswell.com.

Click for Springside The Mercy's Well CD featured on this program, "Songbook: Where Hymns & Harmony Live," is available from our mailorder service, Springside. Just call 1-800-38-MUSIC to order. You can order easily from our webstore by using this link to go directly to this item. (Orders over $40 in the USA qualify for free shipping.)

Click for Mark Lowry Our Artist Spotlight guest on this program was Mark Lowry. Mark's always been a a deep thinker, even though his personna is that of the "funny guy" on the Gaither concerts. It's interesting to see subtle changes in him now that he's back with the Gaither Vocal Band. I asked him if that's a result of simply maturing. He said, "probably." As Mark said on the program, he feels one of his primary roles is to encourage Christians in their daily walk. The song "Over My Head" that I played is a good example of an encouraging song. The powerful song, "The Inviting Christ," needs no further explanation. Songs you heard were from his "Life Gets Loud" solo CD, which is available from Springside.

Congratulations to the special "Week Number Two" winners in our recent 2010 Great Annual Giveaway. Carl & Jeanette Garrison of Lawrenceville, Georgia, have won three nights at the big Singing In the Sun Event two weeks from now in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Our thanks to the folks at Abraham Productions for making this special prize available. More information about the Singing In The Sun can be found online at http://www.abrahamproductions.net/SIS.htm.
