From the program the weekend of Jan. 16th & 17th, 2010:

We appreciated your Listener Favorite calls this past Sunday. (See here for information.) This was one of about three opportunities you have each year to call in and record an introduction to your current Southern Gospel favorite song. Of course, callers whose introductions are used on the air win Springside gift certificates. We'll begin using these immediately on the air and will soon announce when there will be an all-Listener Favorites edition.

Click for Down East Boys Our Featured Artists on this program were the Down East Boys from Reidsville, NC. We've been visiting with this group Today's group includes Ricky Carden, Jason Runnels, Stuart Cary and Daryl Paschal. Included were some songs from their new CD entitled "One Day," including their popular new radio single, "Joseph Got His Tomb Back." I enjoyed the song Jason co-wrote, "One Day The Next Day." Interesting thought. As you heard on the broadcast, courtesy of the Down East Boys, we have 90 copies of their new CD to give away, but the deadline for entries has now passed.

Click for Springside The Down East Boys' CD featured on this program, "One Day," is available from our mailorder service, Springside. Just call 1-800-38-MUSIC to order. You can order easily from our webstore by using this link to go directly to this item. (Orders over $40 in the USA qualify for free shipping.)

Adam & Kathy Glover Our Artist Spotlight segment on this program was unusual — because our guests, the Glovers, have an unusual ministry. While many ministries target "hurting people" (as they do), the Glovers have felt the call to minister especially to people who have had abortions or been victimized in some other way by abortions. This is a very personal issue to both Kathy and Adam Glover, for the reasons you heard them describe on the broadcast. This was an excellent reminder as we go into Sanctity of Life Week, commemorating the infamous Roe vs Wade decision by the U. S. Supreme Court, January 22, 1973. More info about them (and their full story) can be found online at www.thegloversonline.com. Their e-mail is adamandkathy@thegloversonline.com.

Listening to the Headline Update casually, does something ever suddenly catch your attention, and you wonder, "Did he say....?" Well, you don't have to wonder what I said. Every Monday we post the audio of the Headline Update from the previous weekend's broadcast. The link is the yellowish banner near the bottom of our website's Current Information page. Give it a try.
