| From the program
the weekend of Dec. 19th & 20th, 2009: |
This was one of my favorite program editions
each year, our Christmas special entitled "A Gospel Christmas 1009." So
much great music for the season of music! As Bill Gaither wrote, "He started
the whole world singing..."
She's right there in every manger scene you've ever seen.
But somehow Mary... gets overlooked.
True, she is greatly overshadowed by the Christ-child...
He is, after all, what Christmas is about...
But there had never been nor will there ever be anyone else
like her.
She was chosen by God to be the human mother of His Son!
Luke Chapter 1 has the account:
"Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold,
you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His
name JESUS. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest;
and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will
reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no
end... That Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God."
Then Mary said, "Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according
to your word."

new classic Christmas song, Mary Did You Know? |
