| From the program
the weekend of Dec. 12th & 13th, 2009: |
Very few years do we have so many new Christmas
CDs "popping out" at the last minute by top Southern Gospel groups. That's
why on this program we had two different Featured Artists, along with an
Artist Spotlight segment.
Our first hour's Featured
Artists were Priority, the quartet previously known as the Mike
LeFevre Quartet. Included were four songs from their new "Merry
Christmas-Priority" CD that has just been released. As it turned out,
three of the four songs were traditional Christmas favorites and one, "Come
On Ring Those Bells," has been a favorite for most of four decades. We
talked on the program with Mike LeFevre, Jordan LeFevre (Mike's
son) and with David Staton. Gus Gaches was part of this recording,
but, as you know, he's leaving Priority to join Legacy Five.
Priority's CD featured on this program,
"Merry Christmas-Priority," is available from our mailorder service,
Springside. Just call 1-800-38-MUSIC to order. You can order easily from
our webstore by
using this
link to go directly to this item. (Orders over $40 in the USA qualify
for free shipping.)
Our second hour's Featured
Artists were the Ball Brothers with songs from their new Christmas
CD called "The Ball Brothers-Christmas." The songs we included from
this new CD are also traditional Christmas carols, although the CD itself
is a mix of carols and secular Christmas favorites. All are well done and,
as you heard, they include several acapella renditions. I very much appreciated
Andrew Ball's observation on the program that the Christmas season
provides a wonderful opportunity to share the Gospel with those who hear
a lot about Christmas but haven't really "lived" its true meaning.

Our Artist Spotlight guests were Perfect Heart, with songs from their
new "Light Of The World" Christmas CD. Group members include Mike
Presnell (bass), Wesley Anders (tenor), Jimmy Dunn (lead)
and Tommy Smith (baritone). More info about them can be found at
www.perfectheartqt.com.
