From the broadcast the weekend of April 5th & 6th, 2008:

Click for Lesters Our Featured Artists on this edition were the Lesters, whose family singing roots go back more than 80 years. Today's group includes long-timer Brian Lester, his sister, Ginger, her daughter, Jenny, and Brian's son, Jonathan. Beginning with Harvey “Pop” Lester and Opal “Bobo” in 1925, five generations of Lesters have brought the message of God’s grace to audiences worldwide. As you heard Brian say on the program, this is the first time in about 40 years that all of the group's members are actually members of the family. (The Lesters, of course, have had some great non-family singers as part of the group over the years.) As Brian said on the air, their current featured radio song, "He Bled, He Died, He Rose," is the whole story of the Gospel in a nutshell. It's the uniqueness of Christianity. "The Time That Remains" was also a challenging song, causing us to think about what we are (and will) do with our lives in the time that remains.

Click for Springside The Lesters' CD featured on this program, "No Doubt" (this group's 88th recording!), is available from our mailorder service, Springside. Just call 1-800-38-MUSIC to order. You can order easily from our webstore by clicking on this link to go directly to this item. (Orders over $40 in the USA qualify for free shipping.)

Click for Michael Booth What can I say about Michael Booth? Michael Booth is....well...Michael Booth! He's certainly one-of-a-kind. The word I used in my "promo" last week seems to fit — "irrepressible." His effervescent personality and infectious joie de vivre (he'll have to look that up) has certainly won him a multitude of fans. And his new solo CD, featured on this program's Artist Spotlight segment, surely will please those who have enjoyed his singing over the years. I loved his remake of the classic Cathedrals' song, "Jesus Saves." Every artist, sooner or later, comes to have what becomes their "signature song" — the song for which they are best known — and for Michael that song is "This Love Is Mine," recorded some years ago by the Booth Brothers and now included on his solo CD.

By the way, Michael Booth's solo CD, "Michael Booth," is available from Springside. Click here to find it in our Springside.com webstore

On the Headline Update (and later in the program) you heard Ivan Parker talking about the annual Singing In The Sun in Myrtle Beach, SC, held this year April 23-26. For more information, go to www.abrahamproductions.net. This is becoming quite a major annual event, and just about all the top groups will be there at least one of the nights.
