From the broadcast the weekend of March 8th & 9th, 2008:

Click for Greenes Our Featured Artists on this program were the Greenes with songs from their "Far Down The Road" CD. You heard Tony Greene and the others talk about why their current radio song, "We've Weathered Storms Before," is so appropriate for this group. The Greenes have certainly had more than their share of physical problems over the years (as you heard discussed), but they've also had unexpected blessings, too, such as children for Tony and Taranda. Anyone over a certain age, as I am, certainly was touched by that song of theirs, "Closer To Where I'm Going." That reminded me of the late George Younce's comments during the latter years of his life, "I know I've got a whole lot more miles behind me than I have in front of me..."

By the way, after this program was recorded the Greenes announced that Brad Hudson will be leaving their group next month to accept a worship leader position at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Gastonia, North Carolina. He's been with the Greenes for three years. Now the Greenes are looking for a fulltime replacement.

When I played Mark Lowry's version (by request) of "Going Home," I had in my notes to mention who that female voice was that you heard singing with him. But I forgot. So, if you don't already know, I'm telling you now — it was Kim Lord of LordSong.

Click for Perry Sisters As you know, The Gospel Greats program has been on the air continuously since 1980. And back during the 1980s and 1990s one of the groups listeners always wanted to hear was the Perry Sisters. Various issues, mostly health-related, caused the group to all but quit about six years ago. They've been doing a little singing around home. But now they're back with their first new recording in about six years, and I'm happy they are. You heard three songs from it on the Artist Spotlight segment on this program. "I Fall Down On My Knees," their new radio song, is especially touching from among those featured. Perry Sisters — welcome back! It's been far too long.
